$30,000 Price Adjustment October 1st. Owners have found their next boat!

Fresh Pictures as of October 2024. Turn-Key and Ready to Cruise! Lots of upgrades.

"Kay Syrah" is an excellent Tartan 4300, very well outfitted and ready to go cruising. She was ordered by her current owners as a 2 cabin, 2 head version, with an excellent lazarette and aft pantry by the Galley (No more storing extra goods under couches or floor boards). She has comfort features such as a watermaker, a set of solar panels, a full cockpit enclosure by top canvas maker Iverson (includes shade panels), and finally hydronic diesel heating system with 3 control zones. The interior is classic Tartan, finished in beautiful Cherry wood, with teak and holly flooring. Everywhere on the exterior are shinning stainless steel hatches, Dorade vents, plates and fittings.

She also features a custom-added davit system, an inflatable tender with a fiberglass bottom, a Torqeedo electric outboard and bow thruster.

Cruising sailors will appreciate the extensive sailing features; a carbon fiber mast, coupled with Leisure Furl in-boom furling for the main (Allows for easy reefing, a full-sized Main sail and full battens, and simple to store.). On the foredeck, there are twin furling head sails (a large Genoa and self-tacking Jib), and a wisker pole to keep the head sail out. Planning for a long trip, they also had a rig inspection done in 2023.

Yearly service records, she had the engine, sail drive serviced in March 2024 as well as bottom paint.

Review from Sail Magazine:

“Sailing a new 4300 on a blustery day in Miami. I found the benefits of a carbon fiber spar and lowered center of gravity were very evident. The boat stood up nicely to the 14-to-18 knot puffs. […] I sensed power enough to deal with the waves even bigger than the Biscayne Bay chop we were slicing through. Balance, sensitivity, and control were exceptional. The 4300 is every inch a pleasing and capable modern sailboat[…]. Crisp, salty, and well-proportioned, the 4300 is elegant and sinfully easy to sail. Tim Jackett has designed some good boats; the 4300 deserves to be celebrated as one of the best.”

Located in Elliott Bay Marina in Seattle, WA, please call to view. She does not disappoint.

About the Hull:

The hull design of the 4300 continues the Tartan trend of long waterline, slippery entry forward, full and flat aft quarters, and carefully sculpted balanced volume to produce a yacht that is easily driven and powerful for maximum performance.  Her long waterline length relative to overall length provides a high theoretical hull speed and the full aft sections allow the 4300 to surf and extend her sailing and motoring length to provide fast and exhilarating passage-making.

Sails & Rig:

The Tartan 4300 has been designed with Tartan's "Cruise Control Rig"; key features are a double spreader tapered carbon mast, self-tacking 100% jib, masthead 150% reacher and has been upgraded with a Leisure Furl in-boom furling.  Her carbon rig is lighter, stiffer and stronger than aluminum; the weight savings aloft provide the stability equivalent of (5) 200 lb crewmembers on the rail.  Upwind sailing is made easy by single sheet trimming for the jib, tacking is as easy as a turn of the wheel, the jib tends to itself and with the traveler mounted either on the housetop or on the hardtop, the main is free and clear from the cockpit.  Offwind, roll up the self-tacker and unfurl the lightweight masthead reacher and the 4300 is canvassed for powerful reaching and downwind sailing.  When its time to head for the harbor, the headsails are neatly rolled on the Harken furlers and the mainsail is conveniently rolled back into the boom, no sail ties needed, no muss or fuss.  Simply stated, the Tartan 4300 makes performance cruising easy.
