The Valiant 42 is the evolutionary successor to the Valiant 40, sharing the look and styling of its legendary predecessor. Over the years, the Valiant line of bluewater passage-makers has always reflected our commitment to product evolution and refinement. We actually began the major shift in the direction of the new Valiant 42 with the introduction of the "Series 90" Vacanti keel. Not only does this keel deliver state-of-the-art performance, it also gives us a lower center of gravity and provides for a shoal-draft capability, heretofore unavailable without resorting to centerboards and tricky bulb-type protuberances. Significantly, the new Valiant 42 deck features a cockpit that is completely wrapped with an offshore coaming for both comfort and safety. Seating areas are fully guttered and an expanded, recessed propane storage system is included as well. The frontal portion of the cabin trunk is contoured in its transition to the foredeck. The deck design provides for maximum flexibility, while the below-deck volume is increased. There are no predetermined locations for the hatches, port lights and companionway. There are enough variations within the three basic interior arrangements of the Valiant 42 to offer an almost unlimited choice to the customer. The new Valiant 42CE or "Center Entry," provides for a more open interior and yet allows for a true three-cabin layout. The head is located aft, and the two, separate, double staterooms greatly enhance below-deck livability. The Valiant 42 features a new double spreader rig which is matched with a short bowsprit to maximize sailing efficiency. Our spars are especially produced for us by the same custom fabricator we have always used, and then completed in-house. In fitting the spar, it is cut, tapered and welded out of the highest quality aluminum alloy available. Top name and quality marine components are standard on every Valiant yacht and include Navtec rigging, Lewmar winches and hatches, Bomar-Hood stainless port lights, Edson steering system, stainless steel propane stoves, custom fuel and water tanks, bronze through hulls below the waterline, to name just a few. We combine high-quality design, workmanship and materials to assure each Valiant owner the confidence of sailing wherever the winds may blow.
