1984 Custom Cruising Schooner

This spectacular vessel, ‘Sir Isaac’, a 49’ Cold-Molded Cruising Schooner, is in excellent condition and received a major restoration from 2006-2016 by the current and long-time owners who not only maintain the vessel to the utmost degree but also sail her regularly, both cruising and racing, and have found her to be very capable of doing both well. The vessel is equipped with top quality systems and redundancies to ensure safe and capable operation whether going around the marks or heading to Sea.

 

This vessel must be seen to appreciate the quality and craftsmanship that 'Sir Isaac' exudes. She's beautiful, fast, in pristine condition and constantly tended to by her dedicated owners. 'Sir Isaac' is the ideal boat for comfortable short or long-range cruising or for adrenaline pumping mark rounding's on the race course! 'Sir Isaac' leaves a wake of excitement and admiration where ever she sails!

‘Sir Isaac’ was designed by naval architect Chuck Burns and built by C&B Marine in Santa Cruz, CA. The boat was designed for Double-Handed Ocean Racing. The current owners have owned ‘Sir Isaac’ for 23 years. In 2006 the boat was hauled out for a 10 year Restoration; re-launching in 2016 (See

Maintenance:

 

‘Sir Isaac’ is hauled annually for bottom painting and inspection. No project is every left in waiting with her proactive owners routinely following a strict preventative maintenance schedule on the boat throughout their ownership.

 

Layout:

 

Starting forward the Fore Peak is a Water Tight Compartment and Chain Locker. The bottom of the Chain Locker is lined with UHMW to protect the hull from the chain.

 

Aft of the Chain Locker is the V-Berth. At 6’9” it is a very comfortable space and the Double Berth for Cruising.

 

Aft to port is the Head, with a Hanging Locker to starboard.

 

The Main Salon is next aft with port and starboard Settees and a Center Table and Island Galley. The Engine is located under the Island. Aft and to starboard is the Navigation Station.

 

Aft of the Main Salon Bulkhead is a Grated Area for wet gear. Port and starboard of the companionway are Quarter Berths and Sail Stowage. Starboard side aft lower is the HVAC space. The cockpit is above the Quarter Berths. Aft of the Cockpit is the Lazarette.

 

The Cabin Sole is Teak and Holly. Each removable Cabin Sole section latches into place.
